"Because of Jesus Christ we share God's love. Because of Jesus Christ we join hands in service." Galatians 6:2 instructs: "Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
PRCC supports a variety of charitable causes:
Lobster Festival
The lobster festival is our biggest fundraiser for charity each year.
In 2011, we raised $14,320 and split the proceeds between The Pound Ridge Lion's Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and the Pound Ridge Fire Department with each receiving $7,160
In 2010 we raised $12,200 for the Food Bank for Westchester. Since the foodbank is able to buy food in bulk, the dollars went further in helping the other hunger assistance organizations who receive food from them.
Souper Bowl of Caring Feb. 4, 2012
Our youth collected $985 and 657 pounds of food for the Community Center's food pantry. Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide youth movement coinciding with the Super Bowl to end worldwide hunger at the local level. 100% of collections are distributed to the local charity of choice.
Haiti Health Kits
We are able, through UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, to help earthquake ravaged Haiti and other areas affected by disaster. We provided about 100 health kits to UMCOR.
Heifer Project
We raised more than $5,200 in 2010 for Heifer Project International, a not for profit organization dedicated to helping families become self-reliant through the gift of farm animals. For more info. about Heifer, go to www.heifer.org.
Bedrolls for Midnight Run
A group of ladies meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month to hand sew bedrolls for the homeless of NYC. They would welcome new sewers. They are in need of full size blankets and comforters. Please consider donating them!

PRCC's Committee on Outreach and Missions team has led the church in supporting many charities - local and throughout the world.
