Mission Projects 2010:
Health Kits for Haiti
Our church put together almost 100 health kits for Haiti which were distributed through UMCOR (The United Methodist Committee on Relief.)
Heifer Project - We had a lofty fundraising goal of $5,000 and WE MADE IT! We raised more than $5,200 which was sent to Heifer Project to fill an "ark" with life changing animals that will help families here and abroad to increase their incomes and standard of living. www.heifer.org. Our Hoedown in the Hamlet was one of our activities.

Mitten Tree and Coat Purchase:
We collected an enormous amount of mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats on Sunday, December 13th to hang on the Mitten Tree. We were able to purchase 28 children's coats (using the children's offering money) that we donated to the Community Center in Katonah. Thanks to all!

Philosophy of Sunday School:
At PRCC, children aren’t the “future of the church”, we recognize that they are the “NOW of the church!” and we want them to love coming here. We think that Sunday school should be a fun and safe way to learn more about the Bible, God, Jesus, and about being a Christian. The church service starts with children sitting with their parents in the sanctuary, experiencing the music and prayers along with the adults. Even though they may be coloring or doing a puzzle, they are learning that religion is important to the grown-ups around them. The pastor will then call the children forward to hear a short children’s message. After that, children exit to Sunday school. When we are using curriculum, children report to their classroom for age based religious instruction. The lesson is a bible story accompanied by several fun activities. When we are doing rotation format, they are divided into three age- based groups and then rotate to 3 different activity centers so that they can experience the bible story in three different ways. A typical Sunday might include a storytelling center, a craft center and a game center. Kids are loving the more active movement and having fun while learning.
Our Sunday School Coordinator is on hand to see that children get to the right place.
